    Praestar Controls (A division of Praestar Technology Corporation) is the leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of application-specific electronic controls for equipment manufacturers in North America.

    The Company was started in 1995 with formal incorporation on May 9, 2001 by Jim and Jason Piatt (a father-son team). In 2003, Praestar Controls began to market its initial offering: the Modari MPC Process Controller. The product was co-branded immediately by Motorola. Shortly after this initial launch, Praestar Controls opened sales offices in Orlando Florida and Chicago Illinois.

    The Company has continued to grow, expanding its Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams each year. Today the Company operates three manufacturing centers, four design centers, and many sales offices around the United States.

    Management

    JasonJPGJason Piatt is cofounder and President of Praestar Technology Corporation. Prior to founding Praestar Technology, Jason held various tactical and executive positions in Engineering, Sales and Marketing, and Program Management with a leading power transmission component manufacturer. In addition to his industrial responsibilities, Jason has been a member of the faculty at Penn State University in the Marketing, Business Administration, and International Business Departments. He has also taught at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mathematics, and Physics.

    Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Physics from Bucknell University. He also earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell and an MBA with Honors from Mount Saint Mary's College. Jason completed his Six Sigma Black Belt training at the University of Michigan as well as additional graduate education at the Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania.

    He has been an invited lecturer at Princeton University, Penn State's Capital Campus, and numerous industrial functions. Jason and the Praestar Technology team have assisted numerous manufacturers by developing and producing embedded controls for their machinery.
